Close to 1000, New Channel Name, Bloodstained, and more!
Hello gang!
We're still trundling along with the website, which included the laborious task of updating all of our video descriptions with our Instagram, Ko-Fi link and website. We also finally took the plunge and decided to update the name of the channel to 2 Guitars Play from The Phoenix Effect. For those unaware (and I guess that would be most of you!), The Phoenix Effect was the name of our band for a few years, and the channel was started as a band channel until it took off with our covers. We're in a slightly different version of the band now, and we hope to have some news of that coming soon!
At the time of writing we're at 992 subscribers, which is for the maths savvy of you, is 8 away from the exalted and long coveted benchmark of 1000. I'm aware that nothing much will change, unless Youtube has some sort of algorithm that boosts your videos after a certain amount of subscribers, but for me at least it will legitimize 2 Guitars Play to a "real" channel and allow me the satisfaction of being able to vaguely say "We have over 1000 subs!" when we have not a head over 1006.
In terms of videos, we just posted our Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night cover (see below), which seems to have been well received: the first comment on it was from the official Youtube of Bloodstained, which is a pretty solid endorsement all considered. I'm just finishing up our big Nier: Automata medley, and while it's about a year too late to be relevant I'm still really pleased with it. Pokemon Gold/Silver are coming, and we're looking to do a sequel to our Don't Starve medley due to many requests.
